〈Talk Event〉“Minami Gallery and Kusuo Shimizu”
Opened in 1956, Minami Gallery hosted approximately 250 exhibitions of contemporary artists from Japan and abroad until its closure in 1979 due to the sudden passing of the gallery owner, Kusuo Shimizu. The gallery played a critical role as a venue for cultural exchange among artists, critics, poets, architects, and many other cultural practitioners during this period. As the number of people who can attest to the Minami Gallery of that time is dwindling, the talk event was held as a place to look back on the gallery at this time.
